Humana
Insurance plans are often opaque and difficult to understand. We all struggle to catch on to how it all works and what exactly our insurance plans cover, what the drawbacks are, and how exactly our benefits can apply to a specific medical need. At Alamo Behavioral Health, we believe in full disclosure and transparency. And we’re here to help – start to finish. To put your mind at ease, let’s delve into Humana rehab coverage. Read on to gain helpful information on plan options, programs it covers, and most importantly, treatment costs. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are available 24/7.
HUMANA REHAB COVERAGE: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
Humana Inc is considered one of the largest health insurance companies in the United Unites. Starting out in the 1960s as a nursing home company, it rapidly grew to become the largest and the most recognizable in the nation. Three decades later, it officially transformed into Humana, the largest hospital operator with its distinct health insurance plans. The company decided to let go of its hospital division and instead entirely focus on healthcare plans. Today, Humana is a for-profit health insurance company recognized as one of the largest health insurance providers in the country, providing coverage to over 20 million Americans.
Although of for-profit nature, Humana has successfully collaborated with several US government agencies, including CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Ever since MMA (Medicare Modernization Act), Humana has also become frequently associated with Medicare, as its plans offer extensive rehab coverage.
WHAT HUMANA OFFERS
Humana offers a range of different health insurance plans according to one’s specific needs. There are four distinct product categories:
- Medicare
- Employer Group
- Dental
- Vision
This healthcare provider offers a wide variety of plans and different options, including Humana coverage for rehab purposes. If you want to learn more about other types of coverage and plans, please visit the provider’s website.
REHAB COVERAGE BY HUMANA
For substance abuse explicitly, Humana offers Medicare plans. These include:
- Medicare Part A
- Medicare Part B
- Medicare Part C
- Medicare Part D
It’s important to note, there are various plans within every individual group, with each offering coverage for different services (different deductibles, premiums, etc.). Before applying for our medical detox in Texas, we strongly advise our patients to explore the given options in order to find the plan most suitable for their individual needs.
HUMANA DRUG REHAB COVERAGE WITH MEDICARE PART A
Being an integral part of Original Medicare, Part A is what we call hospital insurance. As such, it offers hospital care coverage. As of 2023, Medicare Part A comes with:
- $0 for most individuals (the ones qualifying for premium-free Part A; you can purchase it for either $278 or $506, depending on years of service and paid Medicare taxes)
- deductibles: $1,600 for every inpatient hospital benefit period before Original Medicare starts to pay (there are no annual limits to benefit periods)
- the inpatient stay: 1-60 days – $0; 61-90 days – $400 copayment each day; 91-150 days – $800 copayment; 150 and plus – the patients pay all the costs
- 20% co-pay for the Medicare-approved amount for mental health services
- skilled nursing facility stay: 1-20 days -$0 copayment; 21-100 days: $200 each day; 101 days and beyond – patients pay all costs
Being a part of Original Medicare, Part A also covers doctors’ services costs.
HUMANA DRUG AND ALCOHOL REHAB COVERAGE WITH MEDICARE PART B
The other part of Original Medicare, Part B, is known as medical insurance. When applying for our residential treatment center in Texas, these plans (Part A and Part B making up Original Medicare) cover doctors’ expenses. As of 2023, Medicare Part B comes with:
- a monthly premium of $164.90 each month (varies depending on income and late enrollment penalties)
- $226 deductible annually
- coinsurance: typically 20% of the cost for each covered service (after paying the deductible)
HUMANA ADDICTION TREATMENT COVERAGE MEDICARE PART C AND D
Part C is known as Medicare Advantage; these healthcare plans are required by law to offer and provide all Original Medicare benefits. Medicare Part D covers prescription drug plans. Unlike Part A and Part B (Original Medicare), these Parts are offered by government-contracted private insurance companies. Therefore, Humana rehab coverage and treatment costs can vary immensely, depending on different plans and other factors.
Medicare Part C and D share the following characteristics:
- Both Parts’ plans can vary greatly in co-pays, deductibles, coverage, and costs. However, there are some Part C plans that do come with $0 premiums
- Important to note: Both C and D Parts come with late-enrollment penalties
- Part D plans will vary depending on the patient’s income
Please, be advised: all information is subject to change. Before enrolling in one of our Texas behavioral health center programs, be sure to verify the accuracy of the stated costs with your trusted insurance provider.
INPATIENT PROGRAMS COVERED BY HUMANA SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT BENEFITS
Original Medicare, that is, Part A and Part B, covers inpatient programs; however, although it promises to cover costs for any given inpatient treatment, costs will vary depending on each benefit period. That said, days 1-60 will come with a deductible; days 61-90 will come with coinsurance; days 90 and beyond come with higher coinsurance (“lifetime reserve days,” up to 60 in total); days 150+ grant no coverage, so all costs must be paid for by the patient. Additionally, Humana rehab coverage also includes intensive outpatient programs and sober living.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR HUMANA REHAB COVERAGE?
The road to a successful recovery shouldn’t be riddled with obstacles, as they can hinder one’s progress. That said, the best course of action would be to inquire with your insurance provider about your plan’s specific coverage. Our advice is always to check in advance so as to not leave room for any delays and surprises. Humana coverage varies by plan and provider, so it is always best to check and obtain valid (and latest) information. Please do:
- consider contacting Humana directly before enrolling in a program for more information
- contact your chosen treatment providers; although most rehab centers accept Humana, it is always best to double-check
If you find Alamo Behavioral Health to be suitable to your needs and that your situation could benefit from our residential rehab in Texas, we are happy to inform you that we do accept Humana and will gladly help explore your financing options.
HEALTH INSURANCE PROVIDERS ACCEPTED AT ALAMO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
If you find Humana coverage for rehab unsuitable and wish to explore other options, we also accept other major providers, such as:
WHAT WE OFFER
We know addiction; we understand it. Not only do addictions and their natures differ greatly from one another, but there are no two cases alike, just as there are no two individuals alike. Each addiction case is unique and often requires a custom-made approach. We treat a wide array of addictions, and humbly, we will say – with great success.
COCAINE ADDICTION TREATMENT
Thousands try it daily; one of the most potent, illicit drugs, it produces euphoria by affecting the nerves. Cocaine is highly addictive. Our medical detox San Antonio center offers extensive cocaine rehab services.
HEROIN ADDICTION TREATMENT
Being one of the most dangerous and addictive substances known to the human species, heroin is a powerful opiate with a gripping effect on the brain’s reward system, producing heaps of dopamine and endorphins. The intensity of the chemical’s effect is the reason why this type of addiction is so common. Our center for heroin detox in Texas has helped many with heroin dependence.
METH ADDICTION TREATMENT
Methamphetamine, or crystal meth, is a highly addictive psychostimulant drug. Illicit and synthetic, it can cause addiction in as little as a single use (due to dopamine production). Its effects are often of catastrophic proportions. Our meth detox Texas center accepts Humana rehab coverage.
ALCOHOL ADDICTION TREATMENT
Alcohol addiction is recognized as one of the most widespread addictions globally due to accessibility and affordability. However, it’s a chronic relapsing disorder that continuously puts the patient’s health and safety at risk. Mental health problems are highly comorbid with alcoholism. Our alcohol detox program Texas residents trust, has a high success rate and offers inpatient treatment.
One of the reasons for the excellent results we achieve is the fact that we offer dual diagnosis treatment. This approach implies that besides addiction, we identify the underlying mental health issue fueling the addiction and treat both conditions simultaneously.
MARIJUANA ADDICTION TREATMENT
Used for recreational and medical purposes, marijuana is the most commonly consumed illicit drug in the United States. Concurrently, very much like alcohol, it is also one of the most socially acceptable substances. That said, cannabis use disorder can be developed through prolonged use. Alamo Behavioral Health offers full treatment at our marijuana detox in Texas.
OPIOID ADDICTION TREATMENT
A class of powerful drugs commonly prescribed for severe pain treatment, opioids represent a treacherous danger to their consumer. Opioid addiction remains at epidemic levels across the country, with around 3 million individuals suffering the disastrous effects. Most prescribed opioids include fentanyl, oxycodone, codeine, hydrocodone, methadone, buprenorphine, and morphine. Our opioid detox center in Texas has successfully treated hundreds of satisfied patients.
XANAX ADDICTION TREATMENT
Alprazolam, or Xanax, is one of the most widely prescribed medications for generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Although a prescription drug, Xanax is known to be one of the most addictive drugs on the market, often causing dependence within a matter of a few weeks. Even if taken as prescribed. Thousands seek treatment every year. We offer full treatment at our Xanax detox Texas facility.
BENZODIAZEPINE ADDICTION TREATMENT
Benzodiazepines, or simply “benzo,” are a type of medication known as “tranquilizers” – Valium, (previously mentioned) Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin. Although they have a calming effect, they are exceptionally addictive, and whoever abuses the drug may face a host of unwanted symptoms. Accessible, they are easily and widely abused. Our benzo detox in Texas is familiar with how widespread the addiction is.
